Raising Brittany Dog

The Brittany spaniel is the breed most commonly thought of when the word "Brittany dog" is mentioned. Though the term "Brittany Spaniel" used to be widely used, it has since fallen into disfavor and the "Brittany" is now the preferred name for the breed.
Originally from the Brittany area of France, the Brittany is a medium-sized athletic dog. They have a reputation for being lively and pleasant to be around, and for having excellent hunting instincts. Brittanys are popular as hunting dogs due to their ability to point game and retrieve it.
These dogs are easily recognizable by their bright orange and white (or liver and white) coats, alert demeanors, and short, docked tails. They make great hunting buddies and lovable pets thanks to their quick wits, sharp minds, and gentle natures.
