Om Sensory De-Tails
There exists an occasional pattern in most furry writing: when writing characters who exist in a world where people have animal characteristics, furry characters tend not to smell the blood in the room, hear a person breathing behind the trees or see in specific colors. In a nutshell, these furry characters were only furry in appearance. And so, editor Thurston Howl (Foxers and Bear-iefs and 12 Days of Yiffmas) issued a challenge to all furry writers: write furry erotica with the core argument of, "[insert sense here] is the sexiest part of furry erotica!"
And they rose-in more ways than one-to meet the challenge, culminating in this very book!
The opening section, Sight, showcases Kyell Gold and Weasel. While one features a blind protagonist, the other has an explosion of color. The Smell section includes Joel Kreissman and Shoji. One focuses on artificial pheromones to help with gender transitioning, and the other tackles musk play. Touch has Tarl "Voice" Hoch, Kuroko, and Nathanial "LeCount" Edwards showing off their skills, with elements such as arachnids feeling its prey through web vibrations, an s/m scene with lots of textures, and a touch-by-touch fairytale journey in the woods. The Hearing section features Jay Coates with a story about echolocation and Al Song with a bit more musical sex. Taste concludes with Linnea "LiteralGrill" Capps and Patrick D. Lambert. One story tackles the taste of a beaver''s anal glands, and the other looks at oral fixation in a sweaty locker room.
