Snapshots of China

Om Snapshots of China

This black and white, illustrated paperback of Snapshots of China is a collection of short stories that looks at the daily life questions and struggles of Chinese people as well as non-Chinese people living in China. What do students in China struggle with? What might a business owner in China feel when he thinks he may lose his business? How do kids interact with parents and peers in China? How do non-Chinese adapt to life in a completely different culture and environment? Snapshots of China explores these questions and more through the eyes of a vast collection of characters. These characters each have their own challenges, hopes, and dreams. As we look at life from their perspective, we can understand a little more about Chinese culture and Chinese thinking. Snapshots of China is a collection of stories and character sketches from the writing desk of Alison Mullins. Drawing on her experiences and friendships, she wrote these stories to share a little piece of China with you. Weaving together fact and fiction, these stories will reveal not just a glimpse beyond the surface of a China in the midst of historic transformation, but perhaps we may also see something about ourselves.
