Son of the Flame

Om Son of the Flame

The Son of Flame is the second instalment to The Ash and Stone series, continuing the epic adventure across the Three Kingdoms, a land filled with conspiracy, magic, betrayal, and the machinations of fate. The King of Ravinshore has been saved, the traitorous Order of Walera exposed, and its Lord Watcher chased across the sea. But the danger isn't over for the Three Kingdoms. In Queen's Hill, though Olin and his friends managed to stop the Order of the Red Flame from following Walera's lead to overthrow the kingdom, the Red Flame hasn't given up and is determined to succeed where Walera failed. Enemies and allies alike rally around the throne of Queen's Hill, and conspiracy whispers in the shadows, but the true danger may lurk on the throne itself, as King Ranald of Queen's Hill is consumed by fear and paranoia brought on by the failed coup. As tensions in the kingdom rise, the growing madness of the king threatens to topple the already tenuous peace. Meanwhile, Olin, once a simple skiff thrust into a dangerous secret, is now heralded as the saviour of Ravinshore. But his struggles aren't over. Once again abandoned by the mother he thought he'd found, Olin finds himself adrift and rudderless, struggling with frightening new powers and threats from the Order he betrayed. Levyna is determined to stand by him, even as she searches for the meaning of a haunting new dream, fearful of what its warning means for their future. As enemies lurk within every shadow and war looms on the horizon, Olin and Levyna must face their demons as they come to terms with the magic linking them together. But as their magic grows stronger, it threatens to tear them apart and may become the very spark that burns the kingdom to ash.
