Special and Unique

Narrated by Jack Lyman, a high school student in Illinois with a rare neurological condition called spinocerebellar ataxia, Special and Unique is a young-adult novel written to shine a spotlight on anyone who has felt alone all their life because of something they can't control. Blending together several different themes and genres from romance to fantasy, this story tells Jack's story after he learns of an experimental cure that could permanently get rid of his ataxia and let him live the life he had always pictured. However, taking the cure will not only affect him and this novel chronicles how Jack learns how it will affect the lives of those around him, from his father to his best friend.
