Study of Women Entrepreneurs' Behavioural Dynamics

Om Study of Women Entrepreneurs' Behavioural Dynamics

"Women are entering the world of paid employment in unprecedented numbers" (Rao and Rao, 1988). In the workforce women are still facing numerous issues and being their own boss certainly is more appealing to some of the everyday issues they face outside of entrepreneurship. Gender roles are still a part of their lives but for some female entrepreneurs, they feel more in control, when working for themselves. Before the 20th century, women were operating businesses as a way of supplementing income for their family. In many cases, they were trying to avoid poverty or making up for the loss of a spouse. The business ventures that these women undertook were not known as entrepreneurial at the time; many of them usually had to bow to their domestic responsibilities. The term Entrepreneur is used to describe individuals who have ideas for products and/or services that they turn into a working business. In earlier times, this term was reserved for men.
