Om The Average Amish Woman
Faith came through the labor of her first child a little worse for wear. It had been twenty-three agonizingly long hours of pain and worry. The good part was that she and her husband, Luke, were now blessed with a new boppli boy. After the birthing process, Faith had been far too exhausted to even hold the poor little boppli, let alone choose a name for him. Luke tried as best he could to manage the boppli alone. The midwife had mentioned that a case of the baby blues was a normal happenstance of childbirth, what with all the tumultuous hormones and all, but Luke was quickly feeling overwhelmed with trying to care for an infant, plus keep an eye on Faith as she tried to recover. It was getting a bit too much to manage. Luckily, Faith had a cousin, Sadie, who was a little older than the average Amish woman, and was available to help as a nurse to the child and to Faith, so Luke felt that now was the perfect time to broach the topic with Faith...
