Businesses are struggling, the town barely made it through a freak blizzard, and the mood is bleak overall. A party is just what everyone needs.
Until Holly and her friends find a body slumped against the trash dumpsters. The beloved Chaplain Palmer. Rumors run wild that the town's newest resident is a shifter. He's also the primary suspect. But Holly fears her beloved town is singling him out for being different. A pain she knows all too well.
With the mayor pressuring her to locate the Precious Peridot before New Year's Day, Holly juggles two major investigations, fearing she'll be unable to solve either before the clock strikes twelve.
