The Conservation Series Collection

This book contains all eight stories from the Conservation Series, written by Alexandra Mattisson, to increase awareness and raise funds for the organisations making a difference to protect our wildlife, marine life and forests, and highlights critical conservation concerns facing a huge number of species across the globe. Featuring black and white illustrations that reinforce the fact that there are no grey areas when it comes to fighting against wildlife & marine life extinction and deforestation, this book is made to teach the next generation and adults, to treasure the earth around them and learn how to take action before it is too late. Children's books for adults, because some of us forgot how to be kind towards others. Each story in the series supports a different cause with 56% of the proceeds from the sale of this book being donated to the causes, which are Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary, Open Cages, African Pangolin Working Group, HERD Trust (Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development), Greenpop and the Lion Recovery Fund. Why are the illustrations drawn from the character's point of view?
When illustrating the books the main focus was to be inclusive and not limit the reader and the listener's imagination of who or what the characters may represent to them. Why is the artwork in the books in black and white?
There are no grey areas when it comes to fighting against wildlife extinction. Furthermore, children bring the colour as they view the world in a way/perspective that seems otherworldly to us at times. Children are also our future so we, the adults, who can take action, are responsible for fighting for a better tomorrow today for them. Lastly, this provides the reader with the opportunity to add their colour to the story and thereby making it their own.
