This novel is based upon the life of an individual so great that Indians - in fact, the entire human-kind -- has virtually worshipped for the past four centuries and a half, the attributes enshrined in him. To wit, his courage, fortitude, bravery and unflinching devotion to independence of spirit. He has been revered and remembered with a great deal of pride by our Nation's intellectuals, poets, writers and, indeed, the populace at large. This saga is about Maharana Pratap Singh, who can unhesitatingly be described as the pride of every Indian, the upholder of freedom, and someone who is accorded no less than deity-like status in our hearts and minds.
