A Bond Stronger than Life Itself. Tev seeks to correct a mistake: Aya unjustly sentenced to exile in the Lands of Dark, from which no one ever returns. In failure to change the powerful Minister's mind, they are dragged to the all-consuming Divide of the Lands of Dark, like animals taken to slaughter. Tev and Aya venture through the Lands of Dark to defy the impossible and escape the forsaken land. Evils of the place kept at bay by a glowing crystal-its light strengthened by their bond. Their only guide a stolen book-hoping it will lead to Orta, a doorway out. Their journey will prove to be one of pain and torment, for their escape they will need to rely upon each other, rely upon the bond that transcends lifetime.
