Om The Last Days of the Four Horsemen
1. The Martians are desperate.
2. Most are riddled with disease.
3. Those that remain are disorganised. The alien invaders are less formidable as they struggle to reach Scotland's border. Some are trying to abandon Earth via towering barrel constructions. This great apparatus can fire lifeboats back to Mars. One such assembly is in Dumfriesshire where a number of Martian fighting machines have been destroyed with others driven back. The importance of the giant barrel forces the desperate Martians to keep attempting the recapture of the giant escape mechanism. But the new government in Edinburgh have other plans. The French professor who escaped Essex aboard the Southend Belle paddle steamer is in Edinburgh. His life was saved by HMS Thunder Child's valiant charge. Now he wishes to do something in return. He has a diabolical plan which he has put before the governing powers. He wants humanity to go on the attack. Something colossal that could bring an apocalypse upon the Martians.
