The Long Journey Home

Inspired by true life events, Yasmine Payton struggles with the aftermath of her decision to join the military. As a teenager, she thought that joining the military would be a good idea. It would get her away from a suicidal situation and allow her to travel the world to places she only dreamed about. Unbeknownst to her, the catalyst she would use to travel the world was about to turn her dream into a nightmare. From almost being killed in the line of duty, to an attempted rape on the ship, followed by an event that would result in threats to her life, Payton had to endure things females her age should never have to endure but nothing could prepare her for what those events would ultimately do to her mentally, spiritually and emotionally. PTSD in the military is very real and not knowing how to deal with these emotions would leave Payton in a state of utter despair.
