Om The Men Who Wrecked
One night under the stars on a beach in L.A., Marco, Sylvester, and Thomas leave their meaningless lives behind to set out on the Pacific Ocean for the Polynesian Islands.
Sylvester provides his own sailboat, the Starfish, to realize his dreams as a captain. Marco is fulfilling his prophetic obsession to reach Polynesia, while Thomas just wants to escape his dull life.
After a torturous journey, the young men manage to sail to the heart of the Pacific and begin life as free spiritual souls. But sailing aboard a precarious boat brings endless perils as well as constant disagreements between Sylvester and Thomas.
After months at sea, the three miraculously catch sight of the islands. Thomas meets a woman on Carolina Island, and abandons his friends on their final leg of the journey.
When the Starfish ends up wrecked, the boys must become men, and their character is truly tested.
The Men Who Wrecked is a metaphysical parable. As much as a sailing adventure, it’s also a perilous search on the ocean to find oneself.
Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Diego C. Salgado left law school at age 24 to move to the United States. He now lives in Los Angeles and works in sales. His passion for sailing began in childhood and he has always dreamed of living in the exotic islands of the Pacific. He began composing this novel when just a child.
