The magician Batel must track down an abomination that strikes fear into the hearts of mortal men. He, alongside his companions, must unravel the mystery of how this beast came to the unsuspecting town of Licorne and somehow kill it. Lose and Licorne will become the monster's paradise. And all the while, they must keep an eye over their shoulder.

¿¿¿¿¿ - That a story with magic as a beam supporting is also coherently written, straightforward, and more or less makes sense is a rare beast indeed -- and this is one of those beasties.
¿¿¿¿¿ - I really enjoyed this short story and would recommend it. It was well-written, with a fun cast of characters and an interesting, imaginative plot.
