The Waters of Ngene

At last Maureen is going to have her own family-she is getting married to her handsome Fred.
Fred is full of promises and she can not wait for their life of bliss to begin.

But a year into their marriage, Maureen finds herself in places that are not part of her fantasies - the worst of all being Ngene, a stream with caramel waters where women dig out wet sand with big shovels. She works feverishly hoping and wishing for Fred to come back for her.
