Thirstonfield Halt

Om Thirstonfield Halt

Thirstonfield Halt is a supernatural thriller spanning two-time lines, and lives. The main protagonist of this story, Jack Bright, is first introduced to us as he commits another murder and flees the scene - later committing suicide. We then follow him through short but very descriptive beats from an early age, through World War Two, and eventually to his death, and beyond. The modern-day protagonists are Paul Sullivan and Jill Goodwin. They are engaged and live together in a small village called Hutton Rudby. Following a brush with Cancer, Jill decides to leave her job, and concentrate on writing, while Paul continues with his architectural practice. With the need for them to live between their places of work gone, they decide to move. Their life before, and after the cancer is idyllic. With no children yet planned, Jill has a constant companion, Charlie, a Springer Spaniel. After searching, they find an abandoned train station nestled in a shallow valley in the North Yorkshire Moors. After becoming smitten with it, they sell up and restore the station, not knowing it's past, or who still resides there. As the story continues, we find out more about Jack, and his connection with the Bradbury family who owned the station, and who sold it to Paul and Jill. As things begin to happen, and weird events unfold, Jill begins to investigate the station's past. Eventually this leads her back to the Bradbury farm, where she confronts Mavis, the farmer's wife who reluctantly at first, tells Jill their family secret.
