A Practical Handbook for Breastfeeding Moms

- With Lactating Women in Mind.

Om A Practical Handbook for Breastfeeding Moms

Finally, a handbook that tells our women how to breastfeed was launched - it is titled A Practical Handbook for Breastfeeding Moms. The Author - Mrs. Paultina Anderson recalled the calls from frustrated mothers who did not get the help or information needed. Mothers not knowing what to do bothered her, and so she decided to write. "The handbook answers this long-observed need", says Mrs. Anderson, "there was not enough on the 'how' and this is what, in my experience, and practice was the important issue, and missing link for the mother in her daily life". The handbook uniquely and exclusively addresses the pregnant woman, the mother, and the mother who could not or had difficulty breastfeeding her previous child. It arms her with the required skills and information. The book therefore pursues myths and counters them with facts. Small breasts does not translate to there being not enough milk, and a big baby does not mean that the mother will not have enough milk. The Author continues to explain further these stated facts. She advises on best practice: the preference of demand feeding over scheduled feeding. More than this, she addresses other commonly held misconceptions about nipple and breast pain, as well as breastfeeding while the mother has the cold.
