A Standard Model Workbook

"This textbook provides a one-semester introduction to the Standard Model of particle physics suitable for undergraduate students who have taken quantum mechanics at least at the level of a good modern physics course and have seen Lagrangians in a classical mechanics course. This book is organized around the principle that students learn advanced material best by working it out for themselves. The book therefore consists of relatively short chapters, each providing an overview of a certain topic followed by a series of boxes where students are guided to work out the details for themselves. Each chapter concludes with a number of homework problems that further develop students' understanding of the concepts. Some of these problems can also be used as the focus of classroom activities. This book has also been deliberately designed to offer multiple paths through the material so that professors can choose what they want to emphasize. For example, a professor can elect to skip over material on aspects of quantum field theory to provide more time for exploring applications or vice versa"--
