General Relativity

This work familiarizes students and beginning researchers with both basic and advanced aspects of the theory of general relativity. It includes essential ideas and just enough background material needed for readers to appreciate the issues and current research. The first five chapters form the core of an introductory course on general relativity. The remainder of the book covers causal and deterministic space-times, black holes, gravitational waves, cosmological space-times, numerical relativity, an emergent gravity viewpoint, quantum theory of gravity, and other research-level topics.
