Malindi Mtsweni recalls the obstacles she overcame growing up in Eastern South Africa to become a successful businesswoman and shares views on parenting, politics, and spirituality in this autobiography.
One of her prime concerns is improving lives for South African families-she notes that at least 70 percent of South African children face daily trauma in their households.
One of the main problems is that many parents with stepchildren do not know how to treat them-and these same children aren't sure how to engage with stepsiblings. She says that setting clear expectations can go a long way in solving familial problems.
She also emphasizes the importance of establishing a clear vision in order to make progress, quoting Dr. Bill Winston, who said, "Your feet will never take you where your mind has never been."
"When you don't have a vision, you struggle to get out of bed and give those blankets a kick. Because you have no goal to chase," she writes.
