Om My Real Life Miracle
The year was 2020. The world had experienced an epic shutdown. Millions were getting sick from this dreadful virus and even worse, millions more were dying. Healthcare workers were stressed to unimaginative limits. What happens when those charged with caring for the sick and dying get sick themselves? How do healthcare workers respond to suddenly finding themselves on the receiving end? What happens when one is suddenly facing death? One nurse finds herself in that very predicament. She faces a terrifying life altering experience while also testing her faith and her relationship with God. What she experiences in the dark, lonely hospital room one night will change the course of her life forever. David and Lisa have been happily married going on 37 years this fall. They have three adult children and one grandson. All of their children live in different states across this great nation of ours. Lisa has been a registered nurse for 30 years and has her doctorate in Nursing Practice. She has worked in a trauma emergency room, workers compensation case management, primary care and women's health. For a few years, she had her own business as a certified legal nurse consultant. For the past six years, she has been employed at the local VA Hospital in a leadership position. David is a retired U S Navy Chief Independent Duty Hospital Corpsman. He has been in healthcare for 36 years. Since retirement from the Navy, he has held positions at a local hospital in the Radiology and Cat Scan Department, taught at a local college and currently is the Chief Technologist at the same VA Hospital that Lisa is employed at. They currently live in Virginia with four furry babies. They enjoy volunteering at their church where David is an Elder. They also enjoy spending time with family and taking their camper out on adventures.
