Om Myths, Lies, and Nonsense
This book is not about women, it's about what's done to women so let me ask you a question. When you put on makeup in the morning or for a date, who decides the color of the eye shadow? Is it you? Are you sure or did some advertisement or sales person influence you? Should you go with smoky eyes? Do you need it at all?
Are you overweight? By how much? Who decides? Your dress size, doctor, significant other, the mirror, what? What about your shape? Are the curves in the right place? Are your breasts too large, too small or, heaven forbid, sagging? What about your butt? Oh my God, is that cellulite?
What about other less superficial things like how real is the "Glass Ceiling" and does it matter? What about children and how many? What about abortion? Work or stay at home? Etc.
You don't have to answer but we both know that millions of women wrestle with questions like these every day but nobody bothers to ask why. Why are women put in such an awkward position that they have to question themselves in the first place?
Is it possible that women question themselves because we are surrounded by ancient myths kept alive by lies perpetrated by people with special interests and a lot of nonsense thrown in for entertainment value? Are these myths, lies and nonsense designed to keep you, the 21st century woman, from achieving true social parity?
The answer is a resounding yes and this book provides the answers to questions you may have never thought to ask but should have.
