O, Sweet Master is written from the perspective of a past century because it is often easiest to understand what God is doing when we can see past the trappings of our current society to the bare bones of our lives. What is the bottom line? Where am I in the grand scheme of things?
Miryam is the victim of a crime which she could choose to dwell on each day for the rest of her life. How can she carry such a burden? But God speaks and helps Miryam to learn that He is the Sweet Master Who has the perfect plan for her in His own heart that will give her new life and redeem that day with His overwhelming grace.
