Retinal Diseases: A Case-Based Approach

The retina is the light-sensitive innermost layer of tissue in the eyes of vertebrates and certain molluscs. Retinal diseases are the medical conditions affecting any part of the retina. There are many different retinal diseases and the majority of them cause visual symptoms. These may include a muted color vision, noticing flashes of light, straight lines that appear wavy, difficulty seeing in low light, etc. Some retinal conditions are more common as people develop diabetes or get older.
