The horror of World War II caused Eugene Walker to lose his faith. After the war, all he wanted was to live the rest of his life in peace. Revitalizing a rundown farm was a good start, and with the addition of a beautiful wife and the young boy she gave him, he thought he had found it. Then, his son vanished just as the strongest winter storm in years crippled the area. When no trace of the boy could be found, dark suspicion increasingly fell to him, causing the sleeping demons within him to come roaring back.
