Om The Biblical Christian Worldview - 2016
Can a secular post-modern worldview live in peace with the biblical Christian worldview in the United States in the twenty-first century? This is the real pressing question of our time. If either side is bent on solidifying a culture that eliminates the ability of the other side to freely follow their worldview, civil war is inevitable. Abortion and marriage are only the two most visible issues of disagreement. The broader context revolves around one's views on individual freedom and liberty versus a powerful centralized government intent on providing the greatest good for the greatest number, as defined by the leaders of that centralized government. In his 2015 book, Impossible People, the beloved Christian thinker, writer and apologist Os Guinness eloquently states the following: Modern liberal secular societies have themselves risen from and still depend on philosophical and ethical traditions that come from outside themselves. By this he means that foundational principles are historically religious in nature, and a functioning secular state needs to recognize them. These principles include human dignity, the sanctity of life, freedom, justice and equality. The Biblical Christian Worldview - 2016 traces these themes through a tumultuous Presidential election year and asks this question: What roles do Christians need to play in our pluralistic society while maintaining allegiance to this most important message in the gospel: You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important. Love your neighbor as yourself. The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based upon these two commandments.
