Without You

Life can change in an instant. One moment you are on top of the world and the next you are struggling to survive. Jeff Gueldner's story is one of thanks and appreciation for those who were there to lend a helping hand. Growing up in central Illinois, Gueldner's break came when the University of Kansas Mens' Basketball Coach Larry Brown offered him a scholarship. He went on to be a member of the 1988 NCAA national championship team and earn fan favorite status for his hardwork and solid play. But after college a series of setbacks nearly put Gueldner down for the count. Divorce, cancer and business failure hit him in a relatively short period of time.
But true to his determined spirit, Gueldner overcame those challenges to rebuild his life -- one that came with a new perspective. But he did not do it alone. There were people -- family, close friends, business associates, and those he did not even know -- who helped him climb back. And with this "second" chance, Gueldner made a pact with himself to help others in need, and to express his thanks and appreciation to those who have been there throughout his life.
It's a story of triumph over tragedy, but also one of the power of relationships and how we get by with a little help from our friends.
