Om You Can
This book is an inspirational, first-hand account of the life of a Congolese refugee whose life has taken a new turn after moving to Australia. Zigashane had spent his childhood in the war-ravaged eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where life was characterised by constant fear, abduction, murder, starvation and hopelessness. His family first ran and sought refuge in the neighbouring Tanzania, where he spent years in a refugee camp before being resettled in Australia. In this book, Zigashane shares his difficult past, and also paints a picture of a brighter future as a means of encouraging his readers that, no matter the circumstances we face in this life, there always comes better days. He also uses the book to inspire other refugees, especially those who have just been resettled, to embrace their new life and home, and work for a better future.
