In the near future scientists detect an asteroid that is on a collision course with the earth and if it strikes it will have an apocalyptic effect on the world that will likely wipe out all or nearly all of the life on the planet. With only a few months to put together a team to intercept and destroy the asteroid scientists at NASA are working against a ticking clock to save humanity. However in this modern day world where conspiracy theory takes precedence over fact and where we live in a reality TV show world, there are large numbers of people who think that the asteroid isn't real and that it's all a plot by the government to restrict people's freedom. In this world of paranoia and distrust of the mainstream, a young up-and-coming documentary filmmaker named Henry Wong sees this as opportunity for a new reality show, where he will interview the astronauts to reassure the American public that the world is in good hands and that they will be capable of stopping the asteroid and saving the world by showcasing the lives of the astronauts. But in this world of paranoia and conspiracy theory will making a reality show out of the quest to stop the end of the world help the situation or just add fuel to the fire of the conspiracy theorists? An asteroid apocalypse novella unlike others for the contemporary world, that is so fearful and divided and polarized it asks the question, if the world was going to end would people even believe it? And if people do believe it will our own fear of what is to come destroy us even more quickly than the asteroid ever would?
One night in July 2023 the author of this novella had trouble sleeping and found themselves in a state of trance where they kept recalling numerous past life memories. I then decided to turn this into a novella, making each memory its own short little chapter, little vignettes. This novella is essentially a series of fragmented memories from numerous different past lives spanning the entire history of the world, from places as exotic as ancient Rome, China, Mongolia, Ehypt, Africa, the Middle Ages, the Ice Age, Native American lives as well as more contemporary times that give an overview about how past life memories work, going back and forth between one life to another, showing the good, the bad the ugly, the simple the mundane and the profound all in one. It essentially amounts to a brief spiritual autobiography showing the development of one soul over the course of several thousand years in fairly random order that give an overview of development of one soul over the course of human history.
Humanity has had its first contact with a race of extraterrestrials who have now settled on earth and after a long stretch of time in quarantine are now going to be allowed to start integrating into human society. With only a few thousand of them on the planet, and with their home world being thousands of years away, they are an extreme minority on earth. To compound the problems of integration the odor that these extraterrestrials, 90% of whom are female, emit causes sexual frenzy in human men, making integration difficult and leading to fear and prejudice towards the extraterrestrial visitors. As a result of this many of the aliens who have a much more open attitude towards human sexuality that is radically different from ours, end up becoming prostitutes. When some of these prostitutes are murdered, the first murder of extraterrestrials, the detectives investigating it will find themselves confronted by all of their own mixed feelings towards extraterrestrials and their own sexuality in the process.
