Head and Neck Cancer Surgery: Advancements in Surgical Otolaryngology

The cancers which affect the throat, mouth, sinuses or nose are classified as head and neck cancers. There are various treatment options for this type of cancer such as surgery, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy and chemotherapy. It refers to a type of pre-operative planning technique that uses 3D imaging computer software to visualize a surgical procedure. 3D reconstruction of complex head and neck cancers can reveal crucial details like tumor location, range of invasion and blood supply. It also offers the possibility of preoperative simulation for complex defect repair.
