Om Looking with New Eyes: My Journey from Bondage to Freedom
When the people who were looked upon with the eyes of Jesus realized that those eyes recognized in them their lost and buried sonship, they were suddenly changed. It is His gift of grace that gives us new eyes, and we can see something divine in others. But first, we must be able to see ourselves with new eyes. I developed lie-based beliefs about myself as a child, and those lies had a devastating effect on my life. To the extent that my beliefs were distorted or poorly formed, my discernment and choices were flawed or wrong. We must seek God's truth in place of our lie-based beliefs not only to see the pearl in the mire, but also to recognize the sonship of God in ourselves and in others. "...you will know the truth and the truth will make you free."
