Derek Stanton was born on May 20th 1951, along with his twin brother Bob. Known as the terrible twins, their childhood was a tapestry of Joy, sorrow, hardship, poverty, ridicule and fun. A World War two decorated, beer drinking Sargent as a father. A gentle happy mother. We spent considerable time bent over dads knee. Mom the glue that kept the family on some kind of coherent normalcy. A puberty through hell and back, sorrow, loneliness and anger, a search for meaning and happiness. Numerous inexplicable supernatural events leading to the missions field, evangelism and revival. All life's dreams coming true. A father of two girls, a wife from Cuba, the penultimate representatives of the American dream. Encounters with the Holy Spirit, Jesus and God. Derek played professional soccer for several teams in Canada and the USA. He also participated as a Washington State staff coach and an Olympic development coach finally using those skills to bring the word of God into the USA, Honduras, Uganda, Rwanda, the Sudan and the UK. This is a book of hope, and inspiration. A true story. My personal search for meaning and happiness in difficult life. Through the strife of my youth to finding through a series of inexplicable supernatural events that Jesus is real and alive.
