Nye tendenser

I mange år har fantasibøker kapret en stor andel av de populære bøkene for barn og unge. En ny trend har dukket opp i søkelyset hos barn og unge, ettersom hard realisme har blitt et interessant tema igjen. Det antas at flere barn og unge tenker mer selv og ikke nødvendigvis trenger hjelp fra en voksen. Selv om denne trenden inkluderer bøker som kan virke tøffe og ubehagelige for barn og ungdom, kan disse temaene om død, sykdom, sorg og identitet inneholde en interessant forståelse av å lære om seg selv på og omverdenen. Disse bøkene for barn og unge kan vekke dype tanker og følelser hos dem, ettersom de alvorlige temaene er noe de allerede har begynt å reflektere mer over. Denne tendensen bidrar blant annet til boken “Gjøken” av Bjørn Arild Ersland og Hilde Kramer, som handler om blant annet lureri og det å være naiv. Dette er bøker med utstyr som enten må leses opp ned, på langs, snus eller brettes ut. Bøkene har et sterkt fokus på utseende, følelser og utstyr, for å gjøre en bok mer interessant for barn og unge.
